Jojo is a young boy who misses his mother dearly. He lives with his somewhat distant father who has outbursts of rage so Jojo finds comfort in the sport he plays, the amazing water polo. One day he finds a little bird and the two become best friends. He feeds him brocolli with mashed potatoes and takes care of him. The friendship with his bird turns his life more tolerable and finally gives him the incentive to bake an apple pie that his mother would love so much.
